“Making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."

- Elizabeth Stone

Every birth is unique, and every family deserves a calm, nurturing space in which to welcome their new baby into the world.

As I doula, I believe in helping families find their *best* birth as they define it.

Welcoming a child into the world is a such  tremendous, amazing, transformational process! I want to honor the sacredness of that experience - and support families in whatever way they need that will help smooth the transition.      My personal goals as a doula are to:
1) Provide physical support and comfort measures to help parents be as comfortable and relaxed as possible during labor
2) To listen to and understand your priorities  your wishes and concerns and facilitate communication and decision making with your team
3) to provide practical support in navigating the navigating the myriad issues and question of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period

PRENATAL PREPARATION

  • Learn from you about your vision, values, and concerns about birth and postpartum
  • Help you find answers to questions you have about pregnancy, childbirth, birthplace procedures, or newborn care
  • Practice comfort measures and relaxation techniques
  • Help you develop a newborn and postpartum plan and connect you with whatever resources you need

  • Provide continuous, hands-on physical and emotional support during labor, including helping your partner support you, suggesting positions, providing massage, coaching breathing, and other comfort techniques to encourage relaxation and promote labor.
  • Advocate for you wises and facilitate cooperative decision making with your care provider

  • Take photos during labor and immediately postpartum, if you want them
